GROWMARK Celebrates National FFA Week

GROWMARK believes in FFA's essential mission of preparing students for careers in agriculture and is proud to support National FFA Week, which is celebrated annually from Saturday, February 15, to Saturday, February 22.

GROWMARK currently sponsors the National FFA as well as state FFA in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin.

GROWMARK Foundation Director Beth Fannin says GROWMARK’s commitment to FFA is part of the organization’s nearly one-hundred-year history. “GROWMARK believes in encouraging, preparing, and supporting students to choose careers in the agriculture industry. Many of our current employees started in FFA in high school. We recognize and celebrate the unique perspective they bring to our organization, and we want to prepare the next generation of students to be ready to pursue a career in agriculture,” she said.

National FFA Week was originally created by the National FFA Board of Directors in 1948. It recognizes George Washington, whose federally recognized birthday caps the last day of National FFA Week, and celebrates his legacy as an agriculturist and farmer.

About National FFA

The National FFA Organization was founded by a group of young farmers in 1928. The organization has been influencing generations that agriculture is more than planting and harvesting—it involves science, business, and more. Today, it is a school-based national youth leadership development organization with more than 1,027,200 student members as part of 9,235 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
