The Crops Associate position is an entry-level position.
Individuals will be trained to become a Crops Specialist
(agronomy sales consultant) or a Service Center Manager at a
local FS Cooperative. Job responsibilities and requirements
reflect the entry-level aspect of this position. These
responsibilities and requirements may change based on the
location of the position.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist crop specialist with crop scouting, soil
sampling, field agronomic problem solving, and sales
calls
- Learn the features and benefits of all agronomy
products and services
- Utilize the credit program and GPS services to
improve customers’ business
- Assist location manager with the coordination of
products’ delivery and services to customers
- Sell and service products to walk-in customers
- Assist with the fall and spring seasonal service
requirements

- Become CCA certified with the goal to earn the
responsibility for a trade territory or become a
location manager
Requirements Include:
- Prefer a student with summer work experience in ag
retail, ag sales or crop scouting
- Normally requires an agricultural-related degree
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic
- Must enjoy working as a team doing many different
types of activities
